Inspired Recruitment Group are working with a highly respected independent-style Optical practice in the Brighton area that is looking to welcome an experienced Optical Assistant to its friendly and supportive team.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys delivering excellent patient care and is keen to take the next step in their career. The practice is particularly interested in individuals who have aspirations to move into management and are looking for a business that will actively support their development.
YOU MUST HAVE A MINIMUM OF 12 MONTHS EXPERIENCE WORKING WITHIN OPTICS.

About the Practice
This modern practice was fully refurbished in recent years and benefits from up-to-date, modern equipment and a welcoming environment. Despite being part of a recognised optical group, the team prides itself on maintaining a close-knit, family-oriented culture where every team member is valued.
Conveniently located in the heart of Brighton, the practice offers excellent public transport links and is just a short walk from the train station.
The Role
As an Optical Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting both patients and the wider practice team. You will be involved in all aspects of the patient journey, ensuring every customer receives a professional and personalised experience.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Welcoming patients and providing outstanding customer service
- Assisting with frame selection and styling advice
- Dispensing spectacles and optical products
- Carrying out pre-screening and diagnostic tests
- Managing appointments and practice administration
- Supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the practice
- Working closely with the management team and Optometrists
What We’re Looking For
- Previous Optical Assistant experience is essential
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Ambition to develop professionally and progress into management would be desirable
- Team-focused approach with a strong work ethic
Salary & Benefits

Working Hours
- Full-time, 5-days per week
- 9:00am – 5:30pm
- 4-days in the week + Saturdays
- No Sundays or bank holidays
