About the Practice
This charming independent opticians are expanding and as a result are looking for an extra member of the team. Known for its warm, community-driven ethos, the practice delivers a high standard of personalised care and a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere.
The practice typically sees strong sales performance, often achieving high-value dispenses on busy testing days. What is really important to the owners is patient care, customer service along with the asbility to provide quality eyecare.
About the Role
They’re looking for a mature, self-motivated, and bubbly Optical Assistant who thrives on giving excellent customer care and can confidently manage the practice when needed.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Welcoming patients and explaining the eye examination process
- Supporting the Optometrist with smooth patient handovers
- Dispensing to all levels, frame styling and building rapport with patients
- Managing the practice on non-testing days, ensuring it remains tidy and organised
- Taking initiative to stay productive during quieter periods
What We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate will be:
- Friendly, engaging, and confident with people from all walks of life
- Organised and able to take ownership of their day-to-day tasks
- Comfortable working independently and making the practice feel like their own
- Passionate about patient care with a natural flair for sales and communication
- Experience in an optical setting is essential, and this role would particularly suit someone who enjoys autonomy and is keen to grow with the business.
Salary & Benefits
- Salary up to 27,000 depending on experience
- 37.5 hours per week, 9:00am – 5:30pm
- Potential for future progression into a management role
