This is a genuinely strong opportunity for a qualified Dispensing Optician who takes pride in their work and enjoys delivering a high standard of patient care.
You’ll be joining an independent practice in Derbyshire that focuses on quality patient care. The environment is professional but relaxed, with a real emphasis on patient experience rather than high-volume targets.
They’re looking for someone confident across the full dispensing role, with the ability to handle more complex prescriptions and support the clinical team where needed.
The Role
You’ll play a key part in the day-to-day running of the practice, supporting both the clinical and retail side of the business.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Dispensing a wide range of lenses and frames, including complex prescriptions
- Providing tailored advice based on lifestyle, prescription, and visual needs
- Supporting pre-screening where required (OCT, visual fields, auto-refraction, etc.)
- Working closely with the Optometrist to ensure the best patient outcomes
- Delivering a professional, personalised patient experience at all times

- Qualified Dispensing Optician (GOC registered)
- Confident in all aspects of dispensing
- Comfortable supporting with pre-screening where needed
- Strong communication skills and a patient-first approach
- A team player who takes real pride in their work
