Inspired Recruitment Group is delighted to be working with a well-established family run optical practice in Wandsworth that is looking to recruit an experienced Optical Consultant to join their friendly and professional team.

The Practice
This modern practice underwent a complete refit in Summer 2025 and offers a bright, contemporary working environment. The practice benefits from two testing rooms, six-day testing, and a strong clinical focus, supported by a resident Optometrist and regular locum cover.
The team consists of approximately 5-6 members of staff on the shop floor, with everyone contributing to the smooth running of the practice through dispensing, pre-screening, and patient support. Team members also develop individual areas of responsibility, including contact lenses, NHS administration, lab oversight, ordering spectacles, and managing outstanding jobs.
Additional facilities include dedicated storage areas, a meeting room, and an in-house lab used for edging and storage.
The Role
- Full-time position
- Monday to Saturday working pattern
- Practice opening hours: 9:00am – 5:30pm
- Saturday work is essential
- Salary up to £28,000 depending on experience
- Dispensing and advising patients on suitable eyewear
- Carrying out pre-screening and supporting clinics
- Assisting with day-to-day practice operations
- Delivering exceptional levels of customer service
- Supporting colleagues and contributing to a positive team environment

The ideal candidate will be:
- An experienced Optical Consultant or Optical Assistant – 12-months minimum
- Reliable and dependable in their approach to work
- Comfortable working at a busy and fast-paced pace when required
- Able to make productive use of quieter periods and show initiative
- A genuine team player who is always willing to support colleagues
- Adaptable and capable of working in different situations throughout the day
- Friendly and approachable with patients and colleagues alike
- Professional, presentable, and punctual
- Open-minded and willing to learn new skills and responsibilities
- Passionate about delivering excellent customer service and patient care
