Practice Manager – Salisbury
High-Street Optical Practice, 40,000+ DOE, Bonus Scheme, Full-Time
At Inspired Recruitment Group, we’re working with a busy, well-established optical practice in Salisbury that is looking for an experienced Practice Manager to take responsibility for a successful and established team.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys being hands-on, leading from the front and creating an environment where both the team and the practice can perform at their best.
The current Practice Manager is progressing internally, so you’ll be stepping into an established practice with a close-knit team, low staff turnover and a genuinely enjoyable working environment.
The Opportunity
This is a busy three-test-room practice with a team of approximately 10-11 people, including Optometrists, a Pre-Reg, Dispensing Opticians and Optical Assistants.
They are looking for an experienced manager who can take ownership of the day-to-day running of the practice while continuing to develop the team, maintain high standards and drive commercial performance.
You do not need to be a qualified Dispensing Optician to be considered. They are equally happy to consider a strong retail optical manager with the right level of experience.
The Role
As Practice Manager, you’ll take responsibility for the overall performance and smooth running of the practice, including:
” Leading, motivating and supporting a team of around 10-11
” Managing the day-to-day operations of a busy optical practice
” Driving sales, performance and key commercial targets
” Coaching, training and developing the team
” Maintaining excellent standards of patient care and customer service
” Supporting the team across the patient journey
” Creating a positive, organised and enjoyable working environment
” Working closely with the Director to identify opportunities for continued growth
” Leading from the front and supporting the team during busy periods
About You
Previous optical management experience would be highly desirable, particularly within a busy practice or larger team environment.
You could be a current Practice Manager looking for your next opportunity, or a very strong Assistant Manager/Supervisor who is already taking on significant management responsibilities and is ready to progress.
They’re particularly looking for someone who is:

” Hands-on and willing to lead from the front
” Passionate about delivering excellent patient care
” Positive, approachable and able to maintain the practice’s strong team culture
Qualified and non-qualified candidates will both be considered.
Hours & Salary
This is a full-time position working 37.5 hours across 5 days per week, including one weekend day.
Salary will depend on experience and qualification:
Experienced Retail / Optical Manager – circa 40,000
Qualified Dispensing Optician Manager – 40,000+
There may be some flexibility for the right candidate.
You’ll also have the opportunity to earn a bi-monthly team sales bonus, with payments increasing depending on the practice’s performance against target.
