Assistant Manager / Team Leader
Location: West Sussex
Salary: 31,000 – 32,000
Hours: Full-time, 5 days per week including 1 weekend day
Start Date: ASAP

We’re currently recruiting for an Assistant Manager / Team Leader to join the team at a busy high-street practice, supporting the current manager and playing a key role in the day-to-day leadership of the practice.
The Opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced optical professional who is ready to take the next step into leadership.
You’ll work closely with the current manager, supporting and motivating a team of around 8-9 colleagues on a daily basis, helping to keep the practice running smoothly and ensuring customers receive an excellent level of service.
The Practice
The practice is a busy high-street store with 4 testing rooms and a wider team of around 24 colleagues across two practices.
The practice is easily accessible, with the train station just 3 minutes away, nearby bus links and staff parking available approximately 5 minutes away.
The Role
As Assistant Manager / Team Leader, you’ll be responsible for:
” Supporting the current Practice Manager with the day-to-day running of the store
” Leading, supporting and motivating a team of around 8-9 staff
” Helping maintain excellent customer service standards
” Supporting the team with dispensing and optical duties
” Coaching and developing colleagues
” Helping create a positive and supportive team environment
” Taking responsibility for the practice in the manager’s absence
” Contributing to the continued success and growth of the practice
We’re looking for someone with strong optical experience who is confident supporting and leading a team.
Previous leadership or supervisory experience would be beneficial, but the most important thing is that you’re ready to step up and take on more responsibility.
Salary & Benefits
” 31,000 – 32,000 basic salary
” Monthly bonus of around 150
” 28 days’ holiday
” Full-time, 5 days per week
” 1 weekend day required
