We’re currently recruiting for an Optometrist near Southampton to join a well-established local practice where patient care, clinical standards and strong team relationships are genuinely valued.
The Opportunity
This is a fantastic opportunity for an Optometrist who enjoys high-quality patient care, building lasting relationships and working as part of a supportive team.
The practice has been part of the local community for over 40 years, offering a varied patient base and a welcoming environment where clinical development and professional standards are taken seriously.
The Role
You’ll be responsible for delivering high-quality eye care, including:
” Comprehensive eye examinations and contact lens appointments.
” Dry eye and other specialist appointments where appropriately qualified.
” Advising patients on their visual health and lifestyle needs.
” Using specialist equipment including OCT, fundus camera, tonometry and visual fields.
” Working closely with Dispensing Opticians and the wider team to provide a smooth patient journey.
” Maintaining excellent clinical records and working in line with GOC standards.
” Supporting clinical governance, CPD and continued professional development.
About You
We’re looking for a qualified Optometrist who:
” Holds a BSc (Hons) Optometry or equivalent.
” Is fully GOC registered.
” Has community practice experience.
” Takes a genuine patient-centred approach.
” Has strong clinical and communication skills.
” Enjoys working collaboratively within a close-knit team.
” Is keen to continue learning and developing professionally.
Additional qualifications such as GRR or Post Cataract would be advantageous but aren’t essential.
Salary & Benefits
” 56k – 67k based on 39.25 hours, depending on experience.
