We’re currently recruiting for an experienced Optical Assistant to join a long-established independent practice near Richmond. The practice has recently become part of a respected independent optical group, combining its excellent local reputation with continued investment in technology, patient care and future services.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys building relationships with patients and takes pride in delivering outstanding customer service from the moment they walk through the door.
The practice has two fully equipped consulting rooms, currently running clinics four days per week, with exciting plans to introduce audiology services later this year.
The Role
As an experienced Optical Assistant, you’ll be involved in every stage of the patient journey, including:
- Welcoming patients and providing an exceptional level of customer service
- Pre-screening and supporting the optometrist during busy clinics
- Dispensing a wide range of frames and lenses confidently and accurately
- Booking appointments and managing the diary
- Maintaining excellent communication between reception and clinical staff
- General administration and stock management
- Helping maintain the high standards expected within a patient-focused independent practice
- Supporting the introduction of audiology services as the practice continues to grow
What We’re Looking For
You must have a minimum of 2 years’ experience working within an optical practice.
Applications without the required optical experience will unfortunately not be considered.
We’re looking for someone who is:
- An experienced Optical Assistant with at least two years’ optical experience
- Confident in dispensing and delivering excellent patient care
- Friendly, professional and approachable
- Organised with excellent attention to detail
- Comfortable working within a close-knit team
- Passionate about providing a first-class patient experience
