Domiciliary Optical Assistant – Glasgow, Lanarkshire and Surrounding Areas

We’re looking for an experienced Optical Assistant to join a well-respected domiciliary care provider, delivering essential optical services to patients in their own homes across Glasgow and surrounding areas. This is a rewarding, varied role where no two days are the same — and it comes with a genuine Monday–Friday schedule, no weekends, and regular early finishes.
You must have at least 12 months of experience in optics to be considered.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Organising and running domiciliary clinics.
- Travelling to patient homes across Glasgow and nearby towns/villages.
- There will also be some travel to the highlands on a rota for a stopover to conduct some clinics – once every 6-8 weeks
- Dispensing to patients of all ages, including varifocals.
- Providing kind, empathetic support to elderly clients, patients with additional needs, and younger patients.
- Working solo or alongside another OA in split clinics (“Z Clinics”).
- Managing 4–12 dispenses daily.
Who We’re Looking For
- An Optical Assistant with strong dispensing skills.
- Comfortable working independently and managing your own schedule.
- Confident driver with a clean licence.
- Ideally familiar with Acuitas system.
- Background in care or audiology is a plus.
- Patient-focused with a personable, confident approach.
