Dispensing Manager – Optical Practice Manager
Location: Kidderminster
Hours: Full Time – 37 hours per week over 5 days (Monday to Saturday)
Salary: £28,000 – £33,000 per annum, including bonus
Holiday: 20 days plus bank holidays and your birthday off
About the Role:
An independent practice offering premium frames and lenses, we continue to experience steady growth and have recently expanded our services, including audiology clinics and additional Saturday testing.
We are now seeking a qualified Dispensing Optician to step into the role of Dispensing Manager. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to move into their first management role, or for an experienced manager used to running a smaller team. You’ll be joining a close-knit team with support from the wider group, with the chance to really make your mark as we continue to grow.
Key Responsibilities:
- Dispensing a full range of single vision, bifocal and varifocal lenses
- Use of pre-screening equipment, including field screener and OCT
- Advising patients on contact lens options
- Organising staff rotas and overseeing day-to-day operations
- Managing the practice team, including Optometrists
- Working with company directors to achieve targets and implement strategies
- Frame buying within agreed budgets and guidelines
- Training and developing team members
- Handling reception duties, appointment booking, till operations, cashing up, and banking
- Ensuring high standards of patient care, including adjustments and minor repairs of spectacles
What We’re Looking For:
- A qualified Dispensing Optician (GOC registered)
- A hands-on leader with a patient-focused approach
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- A proactive attitude towards practice development and team management
Practice Opening Hours:
- Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday: 9.00am – 5.30pm
- Saturday: 9.00am – 5.00pm
