We’re working with a stylish, well-established independent opticians in the Cardiff area who are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Optical Assistant to join their close-knit team.

The Role
As an Optical Assistant, you’ll play an important part in delivering an exceptional patient experience while supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the practice.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Dispensing spectacles to patients with a wide range of prescriptions and requirements.
- Helping patients select frames and lenses suited to their lifestyle, needs and budget.
- Providing knowledgeable advice on lens options, coatings and upgrades.
- Building strong relationships with patients and delivering a personal service.
- Supporting the clinical and dispensing teams in a busy, double-testing environment.
- Contributing towards practice performance, including conversion and dispensing values.
- Supporting colleagues and taking on additional responsibilities as your career develops.
What We’re Looking For
You must have at least 12 months’ experience working as an Optical Assistant.
Ideally, you’ll be:
- Confident dispensing spectacles to a variety of patients.
- Friendly, professional and passionate about patient care.
- Comfortable working in a busy optical practice.
- Commercially aware without compromising the patient experience.
- A strong team player with excellent communication skills.
- Ambitious and interested in developing your career.
An interest in progressing into management would be particularly welcomed.
