Salary: £25,500 per annum (depending on experience)
Hours: Full time | 37.5 hours per week
Days: 5 days a week
Location: Newcastle Upon Tyne
We’re working with a well-established, family-run independent optical group in Newcastle upon Tyne, who are looking to welcome a friendly, confident and customer-focused Optical Assistant to their team.
With a proud history spanning three generations, this independent group has built a fantastic reputation for delivering high-quality eyecare and creating lasting relationships with its patients.

Important Requirement:
Ideally looking for a minimum of 12 months’ experience working within optics.

What You’ll Be Doing:
- Welcoming patients and creating a friendly, professional experience
- Assisting customers with frame selection and offering personalised advice
- Supporting dispensing and day-to-day optical duties
- Helping with appointments, collections and general practice administration
- Building lasting relationships with patients and ensuring they feel genuinely looked after
- Working closely with the wider team to maintain the practice’s excellent reputation

- Confident, proactive and comfortable working as part of a small team
- Able to hit the ground running with their existing optical knowledge
- Committed to providing a quality service rather than a rushed, sales-driven experience
- Keen to build relationships with patients and become a valued member of the practice
- Open to developing their skills and potentially progressing their career
