The Opportunity
We’re working with an independent optician in Leicestershire that is looking for an experienced Optical Assistant to join its close-knit team.
This isn’t a high-volume environment where it’s all about getting patients through the door as quickly as possible. The practice takes a much more personal, service-led approach, giving the team the opportunity to build relationships with patients, understand their needs and provide the right optical solution.
You’ll be joining a small, friendly team in a high-street practice with modern equipment and a strong focus on delivering excellent customer service alongside good commercial performance.
What You’ll Be Doing
As an experienced Optical Assistant, you’ll play an important part in the day-to-day running and performance of the practice.
You’ll be responsible for:
- Dispensing to patients across all levels and requirements
- Offering confident frame and lens advice
- Problem solving and dealing with more challenging dispensing requirements
- Building strong relationships with patients
- Helping to maximise sales and conversion through excellent service
- Working closely with the Optometrist and wider practice team
The practice is looking for someone commercially aware who can help strengthen ATV and conversion, without compromising the quality of the patient experience.
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for an Optical Assistant who is already confident dispensing and can hit the ground running.
You’ll ideally be:
- Experienced in dispensing to all levels
- Confident discussing lens and frame options
- Comfortable problem solving
- Customer and service focused
- Commercially aware
- Confident contributing towards sales, ATV and conversion
- Friendly, reliable and comfortable working within a smaller independent team
Salary & Benefits
£26,500 – £27,000 basic salary
Plus:
- Daily sales bonus scheme

- No Sundays
Working Hours
Monday to Friday: 9:00am – 5:30pm
Saturday: 9:00am – 5:00pm
Sunday: Closed
