Inspired Recruitment Group is delighted to be working with a highly regarded independent opticians in Twickenham, seeking an experienced and confident Optical Assistant to become a key member of their close-knit team.

The Role
As the full-time Optical Assistant, you’ll play a central role in the smooth running of the practice. Working alongside the owner Optometrist and a part-time Dispensing Optician, you’ll help manage the day-to-day operation of the practice, ensuring every patient receives an exceptional experience.
With one or two non-testing days each week, you’ll need to be confident opening and running the practice independently as the keyholder, managing appointments, supporting patients, and keeping everything running efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcoming patients and providing a warm, professional experience from start to finish.
- Managing the appointment diary and ensuring clinics run smoothly.
- Assisting patients with frame selection and delivering excellent customer service.
- Handling reception duties, telephone enquiries and administrative tasks.
- Opening and closing the practice as the keyholder.
- Cashing up and supporting the day-to-day operation of the business.
- Maintaining high standards throughout the practice.
- Using your initiative to solve problems and keep the practice running efficiently.
About You
We’re looking for someone who is:
- An experienced Optical Assistant, ideally with experience working in an independent practice.
- Confident working independently and comfortable taking responsibility as well as working as part of a small team.
- Organised with excellent time management skills.
- Friendly, approachable and passionate about delivering first-class customer service.
- A great communicator who enjoys building lasting relationships with patients.
- Proactive, adaptable and able to use their own initiative.
- Someone who takes pride in their work and enjoys being part of a small, supportive team.
