Experienced Optical Assistant – Independent Practice

Up to £27,000 DOE

If you’re an experienced Optical Assistant who values doing things properly, this is a role where you’ll be given the time and environment to deliver a genuinely high standard of care.
You’ll be joining a respected independent practice with a strong reputation in the local area. The focus here is firmly on patient experience rather than volume, offering a more considered and personal approach to eye care. It’s a setting where your input matters, and where attention to detail is expected and appreciated.
The practice combines clinical support with a strong eyewear offering, so you’ll need to be just as comfortable advising on lenses as you are helping patients find frames that suit them.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Guiding patients through frame and lens choices with confidence
- Providing tailored styling advice based on individual needs
- Managing appointments and keeping the diary running smoothly
- Carrying out fittings, adjustments, and minor repairs
- Explaining lens options and enhancements clearly and professionally
- Supporting the daily operation of the practice
- Maintaining consistently high standards of patient care
What They Want to See:
- At least 2 years’ experience working within optics
- Strong communication skills and a patient-first mindset
- Confidence in dispensing and frame styling
- Professional, approachable, and well-presented
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Reliable team player who contributes positively to the environment
- A genuine interest in delivering quality over quantity
