Optical Assistant | North Manchester | No Weekends | Experience Required
Are you a confident and experienced Optical Assistant ready to take the next step in your career?
This well-established independent practice in North Manchester is looking for someone with strong leadership skills to oversee day-to-day operations, deliver excellent patient care, and help the practice thrive commercially. While you won’t be formally managing a team, you will be trusted to make decisions, keep things running smoothly, and work independently – especially on quieter, non-testing days.
Salary: £27,000 – £31,000 + Monthly Performance Bonus (average of £150 if store hits target)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:45am – 5:15pm (no weekends!)
Days: 5 days a week (open to 4)

What You’ll Be Doing:
- Dispensing a range of frames and lenses with precision and care
- Providing excellent customer service and creating a warm, welcoming environment
- Supporting the Optometrist on testing days and managing front-of-house operations
- Handling administrative tasks such as appointment bookings, payments, and stock management
- Overseeing the day-to-day running of the practice and ensuring everything runs smoothly
- Working independently on quieter, non-testing days — maintaining high standards of organisation and patient care
- Participating in frame and product selection – your input will be valued
What We’re Looking For:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in optics or at least 1 year as a lead dispenser
- Confident, reliable, and capable of working independently when needed
- Commercially aware and sales-savvy, with a genuine passion for delivering great patient experiences
- A people person who thrives in a friendly, community-focused practice
