Optical Assistant – Full Time – Oxford

The Opportunity
We’re delighted to be supporting a well-established, independent opticians with multiple practices across the Oxford area. They are now looking for an experienced Optical Assistant to join their friendly, professional team.
This is a busy but welcoming environment where the focus is on excellent patient care, not pushy sales. If you enjoy building genuine relationships with patients while working with a highly respected independent group, this could be the perfect fit.
Key Responsibilities
Dispensing spectacles to all levels with accuracy and confidence
Conducting pre-screen tests and contact lens teaches
Assisting patients with frame styling and providing clear advice on lens options
Supporting the day-to-day running of the practice and ensuring a smooth patient journey
Flexibility to cover more than one practice in the Oxford area when required
About You
Ideally 2+ years’ experience as an Optical Assistant in a busy practice
Confident with dispensing and patient care across all levels
Friendly, personable, and able to build strong rapport with patients and colleagues
Strong work ethic and a customer-focused approach
A driving licence is preferred, as flexibility across practices is an advantage

Full-time hours: Monday to Saturday (9:00 – 5:30) with a day off in the week
