Qualified Dispensing Optician – High-End Independent Practice
Near High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire – Up to 37,000 Bonus – Full-Time
Are you an experienced Dispensing Optician who takes pride in delivering exceptional patient care and enjoys building genuine relationships with the people you look after?
Perhaps you’re currently working in a busy multiple and would love to move into a more personal, community-focused environment where quality dispensing, patient experience and professional knowledge are genuinely valued.
We’re working with a well-established, high-end independent optical practice near High Wycombe that is looking to welcome an experienced Dispensing Optician into its friendly team.
With their current Dispensing Optician recently securing an internal promotion, this is a fantastic opportunity to join a respected independent business where you’ll be encouraged to use your expertise, build lasting patient relationships and become a valued part of the practice.
The Opportunity
This isn’t a practice where patients are simply another appointment in the diary.
It’s a community-focused independent where getting to know patients, understanding their individual needs and providing the right optical solutions are at the heart of what they do.
They’re looking for someone who genuinely enjoys dispensing, has a natural way with people and can bring both experience and personality to the team.
You’ll have the opportunity to work with a quality range of frames and lenses, including the practice’s own lens portfolio, offering a more personalised dispensing experience.
The Practice
” Established, high-end independent with a loyal local patient base.
” A welcoming, community-focused environment where relationships matter.
” One testing room, creating a more personal practice setting.
” Quality frames and an extensive in-house lens portfolio.
” Modern dispensing systems, including OPTIX and iPads.
” Convenient high street setting with parking available nearby.
” A business that values its people and has a track record of internal progression.
The Team
You’ll be joining a friendly, supportive practice where teamwork and communication are important.
The business is particularly keen to find someone who enjoys interacting with patients, has a positive attitude and is happy to support colleagues wherever needed.
Personality and attitude are just as important as technical ability. They’re looking for someone who will fit naturally into the team, take ownership of their responsibilities and contribute to the welcoming atmosphere the practice has built.
The Role
As the Dispensing Optician, you’ll play an important part in delivering a high standard of dispensing and patient care.
Your responsibilities will include:
” Providing professional dispensing advice across a wide range of prescriptions, including complex lenses and varifocals.
” Helping patients select suitable frames and lenses based on their prescription, lifestyle and individual requirements.
” Building long-term relationships with patients through excellent service and aftercare.
” Working confidently with the practice’s own lens portfolio.
” Using OPTIX and iPad-based systems to support the dispensing process.
” Working closely with the wider team to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the practice.
” Maintaining high standards of professionalism, accuracy and patient satisfaction.
Full training will be provided on the practice’s systems and products, allowing you to settle into the role with confidence.
About You
We’re looking for an experienced, GOC-registered Dispensing Optician who brings more than just technical dispensing knowledge.
Ideally, you’ll be someone who:
” Has solid experience as a qualified Dispensing Optician.
” Is confident dispensing across all prescription levels.
” Has a genuine passion for optics and delivering excellent patient care.
” Is personable, approachable and enjoys building relationships.
” Works well within a close-knit team and is happy to get involved.
” Takes pride in their work and has a proactive, positive attitude.
” Ideally has independent practice experience, although candidates from other optical environments will also be considered.
Most importantly, you’ll be someone who enjoys being part of a community practice and understands the importance of providing a personal, professional service.

With a strong community presence, quality products and a supportive approach to patient care, it’s an excellent opportunity for an experienced Dispensing Optician who wants to feel part of something rather than simply filling a position.
