Dispensing Optician (Full-Time) – Independent Practice
Location: Richmond, London
Salary: Up to 33,000 per annum
Hours: Monday to Saturday, 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM (with one weekday off)

About the Role
Inspired Recruitment are currently recruiting for a confident and patient-focused Dispensing Optician to join a practice that has been newly acquired by an independent group of opticians. The practice is based near Richmond. Now part of a respected independent optical group, the practice continues its tradition of clinical excellence while introducing new services and technologies to better serve patients.
This is a full-time, permanent position with Saturday working required, and one day off during the week.
With two fully equipped test rooms, the practice currently runs clinics four days a week and has recently expanded into audiology services from November. We’re looking for someone who thrives in a customer-focused environment and is confident in managing the patient journey from start to finish.
Key Responsibilities
o Deliver a welcoming and professional experience for all patients
o Dispense a wide range of frames and lenses with accuracy and confidence
o Provide expert advice tailored to individual patient needs
o Support the smooth running of the clinic, including pre-screening and administrative duties
o Ensure clear and effective handover communication between front-of-house and clinical staff
o Maintain excellent product knowledge to confidently recommend suitable eyewear
o Assist with general practice duties, including stock management and appointment booking
o Uphold the values of a truly independent, patient-first practice
o Support the integration of audiology services iadded in November 2025
What We’re Looking For
o Qualified and GOC-registered Dispensing Optician
o Previous experience working within an optical practice (independent experience preferred)
o Strong dispensing skills with a patient-centred approach
o Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
o Confident, proactive, and organised with strong attention to detail
o Comfortable working in a small, close-knit team
o Experience delivering smooth and effective handovers between reception and clinical staff
o Willingness to support additional services such as audiology
