Dispensing Optician – Kent (close to Tonbridge)
Salary: £28,000 – £34,000 basic + uncapped commission (£35,000+ OTE)
Hours: Full time preferred (part time considered)

About the Opportunity
We’re working with a respected group of high-end independent opticians with four beautiful practices across Kent. This role will mainly be based at two of their practices, close to Tonbridge, with occasional cover at the other two locations.
Each practice offers a relaxed, patient-focused environment with an emphasis on exceptional customer care, premium products, and genuine professional freedom.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Dispensing Optician who enjoys working with top-tier lenses and luxury, independent eyewear brands. You’ll be part of a close-knit team that values collaboration, trust, and a personalised approach to every patient journey.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Providing expert dispensing advice and delivering a premium customer experience.
- Working with Nikon lenses and independent, limited-edition frames (frame price starting at £300 with an average order value at £800+).
- Managing individual patient needs with care and precision.
- Supporting across four well-established nearby practices as needed, while being mainly based around Tonbridge.
- Contributing to a friendly and professional team culture, maintaining the group’s reputation for excellence.
What We’re Looking For
- Qualified GOC-registered Dispensing Optician.
- Previous experience within an independent or boutique optical setting.
- A confident communicator who delivers exceptional patient care.
- Comfortable working with high-value products (average order value £800–£900).
- A strong team player who enjoys supporting colleagues across multiple locations.
What’s On Offer
- Basic salary: £28,000 – £34,000 DOE.
- Bonus: Uncapped 25% commission (typical bonus equates to £5 to £7k per annum).
