Responsibilities of the Optometrist
Being an Optometrist entails some very important day-to-day tasks, here’s a look at what you’ll be doing:

You must be able to provide excellence both in the delivery of your work and your dealings with each customer.

you must be able to carry out eye-tests, contact lens fittings and aftercare advice.

You must be organised as you will have to keep a constantly updated list of each patients records.

You must be able to answer any questions raised by colleagues or by customers at the practice.

You must have an sharp understanding of the clinical world so that you can pass on your knowledge to those in your hearcare.
Requirements of the Optometrist

You must be a Fully Qualified and GOC registered Optometrist with completely up to date CET requirements.

You must have a hard-working attitude and a passion for delivering eyecare to the general public.

You must have a successful background in Optometry or healthcare in general as this will help you fit in an optic role.

You must be able to demonstrate social qualities through your work, including things such as key knowledge, expertise and interpersonal skills.
