On the 7th December, Haine & Smith opticians opened a pop up clinic at Unity House in Chippenham to provide eye exams and glasses to people experiencing homelessness.
During this clinic, patients could have an eye examination completed by an eye care professional. If they needed a prescription, they could choose a free pair of frames and return for a fitting once they were ready.
Anna Lewin, Clinical Lead Optometrist at Haine & Smith, said: ‘At our first clinics we were a little unsure how many patients would come to see us, but our service has been really well received … it’s wonderful to be able to make a real difference to a patient’s quality of life.’
