At Inspired Recruitment Group, we’re working with a well-established, award-winning independent optical practice in Hertfordshire that is looking for an ambitious and experienced Optical Assistant who genuinely wants to develop their career and progress onto the Dispensing Optician course.
This opportunity is all about the future. The practice wants someone who already has a strong grounding in optics but is now ready to take their career seriously, gain professional qualifications and become a Dispensing Optician.
The Opportunity
You’ll initially join as an Optical Assistant, becoming an important part of a busy, patient-focused team while continuing to develop your dispensing knowledge and experience.
This is a mid-to-high-end independent practice with a premium approach to optics, working with leading lens manufacturers including Hoya, Essilor, Zeiss and Shamir.
You’ll gain exposure to a broad range of patients, prescriptions and products while working alongside experienced optical professionals who can support your development.
Most importantly, for the right person there is a genuine opportunity to progress onto the Dispensing Optician course and build a long-term professional career within the practice.
The Practice
This is an established independent with a loyal patient base and a strong reputation for quality and patient care.
Alongside routine eye examinations, the practice offers services including diabetic screening, glaucoma and retinal investigations, contact lens checks and new contact lens fittings.
It’s an environment where you’ll be able to learn, develop and broaden your optical knowledge, rather than simply following a corporate script.
About You
We’re looking for someone who already has good Optical Assistant experience and is confident with dispensing, but feels ready for more.
You might have been thinking about becoming a DO for some time but haven’t yet been given the opportunity. Perhaps you’ve reached the ceiling of what you can achieve as an OA in your current practice and want an employer who will genuinely invest in your future.
What matters most is that you’re ambitious, committed to optics and serious about progressing onto the DO course. This isn’t aimed at someone who is simply looking for their next OA job – we’re looking for somebody who wants to build a career.
