We’re working with a well-established independent optical practice in West Sussex that is looking to welcome an experienced Optical Assistant to their close-knit team. If you enjoy a varied role where no two days are the same and have hands-on glazing experience, this could be the perfect opportunity.
The Opportunity
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a friendly, patient-focused independent practice with an on-site glazing laboratory.

The Team
You’ll be joining a welcoming team of four, working closely alongside an experienced Dispensing Optician/Optometrist and Optical Assistants who genuinely support one another to provide the highest standard of care.
The Role
This is a varied position where you’ll split your time between the practice floor and the glazing lab.
Your responsibilities will include:
” Glazing spectacles
” Assisting patients throughout their optical journey.
” Repairs and frame adjustments.
” Dispensing and frame styling.
” General administration and supporting the day-to-day running of the practice.
About You
We’re looking for someone who:
” Has previous Optical Assistant experience.
” Has practical glazing experience (essential).
” Enjoys working directly with patients.
” Takes pride in delivering exceptional customer service.
” Works well as part of a small, supportive team.
” Is reliable, organised and happy to get involved wherever needed.
Salary & Benefits
” 26,000- 28,000 depending on experience.
” 34.75 hours per week.
” Five-day working week.
” One Saturday off every month.
