Dispensing Optician – Surrey Area
Salary: 30,000 – 34,000 (DOE)
Full Time | No Sundays | 1 Saturday off per Month

We’re currently working with a busy, well-established independent practice in the Surrey area that’s looking to add a qualified Dispensing Optician to its experienced team. This is a straightforward dispensing role with no management responsibilities – ideal for someone who enjoys focusing on patient care, quality dispensing, and building long-term relationships with a loyal customer base.
The practice has a strong reputation locally and offers a professional but friendly environment where people genuinely enjoy what they do.
The Role
This is a hands-on dispensing position where you’ll play an important part in delivering an excellent patient experience from start to finish.
You’ll be responsible for:
” Delivering high levels of patient care in a professional and approachable manner
” Supporting patients with frame styling and lens recommendations
” Taking accurate measurements and ensuring the best possible fit
” Managing spectacle orders and liaising with suppliers when needed
” Carrying out fittings, adjustments, repairs, and final quality checks
” Supporting smooth handovers from the Optometrist to dispensing
” Maintaining accurate patient records and handling admin duties properly
” Dealing with patient queries confidently and professionally
” Keeping the practice tidy, organised, and presentable at all times
What We’re Looking For
” Qualified Dispensing Optician (Level 6 Diploma in Ophthalmic Dispensing)
” Strong dispensing knowledge and confidence with patient interaction
” Enthusiastic, hardworking, and keen to continue developing your skills
” A team player who takes pride in doing the job properly
” Professional communication skills with a friendly approach
” Comfortable using practice IT systems and maintaining accurate records
The Package
” Salary 30,000 – 34,000 depending on experience
” No Sundays or Bank Holidays
” 1 Saturday off per month
” 28 days holiday including bank holidays
