Salary: 32,000 – 37,000 DOE (open to negotiation)
Working Pattern: 3-4 days per week (No weekends)

About the Organisation
An established, high-end independent optical practice based near to Amersham is seeking a Qualified Dispensing Optician to join its experienced and professional team.
The practice has built a strong reputation within the local community for providing outstanding patient care and premium eyewear solutions. The environment is modern, well-equipped and focused on quality, clinical excellence and long-term patient relationships.
Facilities include:
” Multiple consulting and testing rooms
” On-site remote edging
” iPad-based dispensing and patient systems
” A highly experienced multidisciplinary team including Optometrists, Dispensing Opticians, Optical Assistants and management
The Role
This vacancy has arisen following the upcoming retirement of a long-standing Dispensing Optician. This is a key position within the practice and offers the opportunity to work in a stable, well-run independent business where patient care and professional standards come first.
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering a premium dispensing experience and supporting the smooth day-to-day operation of the practice.
Key Responsibilities
” Provide exceptional patient care with a professional and consultative approach
” Dispense high-quality frames and premium lens solutions
” Offer expert advice on frame styling and lens options
” Work closely with Optometrists and the wider clinical team
” Maintain high clinical and retail standards throughout the practice
” Utilise digital dispensing systems and iPad technology
” Contribute positively to team culture and daily operations
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will be:
” GOC registered Dispensing Optician
” A strong team player with a professional and patient-focused attitude
” Experienced in independent practice or high-end optical environments (desirable)
” Confident dispensing premium frames and lenses
” Reliable, organised and committed to delivering excellence in patient care
Applications are welcomed from newly qualified to highly experienced Dispensing Opticians, with salary aligned to experience and capability.
Remuneration & Benefits
” Competitive basic salary of 32,000 – 37,000 DOE (open to negotiation)
” 28 days annual leave including bank holidays
” GOC and ABDO professional fees paid (after successful completion of 6-month probation)

Working Hours
The role requires 3-4 days per week, no weekends
Practice opening hours:
” Monday – Friday: 08:45 – 17:30
” Saturday: 08:30 – 13:30
” Sunday: Closed
