Optometrist Vacancy
Salary: £55,000 to £70,000 pro-rata
Location: Godalming, High Street
We are excited to be working with a new vacancy for an enthusiastic and team-oriented Optometrist to join a friendly and professional team in an opticians in Godalming. Whether you’re newly qualified or an experienced optometrist, you will be welcomed to a modern, customer-focused practice where patient care and expert advice are at the heart of what they do.
What’s on Offer:
- Competitive Salary: £55,000 to £70,000 pro-rata
- Practice Hours are Monday to Friday: 9:00am – 5:30pm, and Saturday: 9:00am – 5:00pm (flexibility for 1 in 4 Saturdays off)
- Bonus Scheme: Performance-related incentives
- Holiday Entitlement: 33 days including bank holidays
- GOC fees paid
- CET courses provided
- Indemnity insurance covered
- Modern Equipment: Fully refitted practice with state-of-the-art technology (all equipment is only 2 years old), including:
- Digital or trial frame phoropter & chart
- OCT
- Slit lamp camera
- Humphrey’s Field Analyser
- Combo Auto Refractor/Tonometer/Pachy/Keratometer (TRK-2P)
- Auxiliary testing tools (Ishihara, stereo, lighthouse, etc.)
About the Practice:
- Facilities: Two fully equipped test rooms with pre-screening carried out by trained staff.
- Team: A supportive and collaborative team of six, including a Practice Manager, Dispensing Optician, and Optical Assistants.
- Patient Base: A loyal, friendly, and affluent community of patients, many with disposable income and a mix of ages. A significant proportion are over 60, with low NHS benefits usage.
- Environment: A welcoming, relaxed, and fun atmosphere where teamwork and exceptional patient care are priorities.
- Community Connections: Strong relationships with local consultants and hospitals for seamless patient referrals.
Your Role:
- Provide exceptional eye care, conducting comprehensive eye tests with flexibility for 25-30-minute appointments.
- Use state-of-the-art equipment to deliver expert advice on eye health and support the dispensing of high-quality lenses and frames.
- Work collaboratively with the team to uphold the practice’s ethos of outstanding customer service.
- Be a friendly and approachable professional who values teamwork and strives for excellence.
